The Tunnels to Towers Foundation was made in honor of Stephen Siller, a firefighter who lost his life saving others during the September 11 terrorist attacks. Siller received a call about the tragedy when he was off duty and, due to security closings of traffic tunnels and roads, chose to carry his gear and run the distance to the World Trade Center. It is in his memory, as well as all the other brave first responders who have served, that the Tunnels to Towers Foundation holds a 5k run and walk each November. Young Patriots Club will perform patriotic pieces at the Ankeny Band Shell at the end of the walk/run. We encourage you to consider registering to run or walk!
